Welcome to St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church
Connection. Hospitality. Service. Inclusion.

For more than 135 years, St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church has gathered for worship, service, and connection in the Clarksville community. What began as a group of dedicated students from the old Southerwestern Presbyterian Univeristy has grown into a congregation that continues to be deeply rooted in its founding principles of worship, service, and connection.

On March 3, 1946, after the conclusion of the morning services, the building caught fire. There were only a few furnishings and the original membership book that were saved from the fire. By 3 o'clock that afternoon, plans were already being made to rebuild St. B.

Throughout our history, St. B UMC has remained deeply committed and called to serving with the members of the St. Bethlehem community. Today, we continue to be present in our communtiy through Ann's Closet, our semi-monthly food pantry that is open on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, packing bags of food through our FUEL team that goes to students at the St. Bethlehem Early Learning Center (formerly St. Bethlehem Elementary School), host weekly Narcotics Anonymous meetings, have a DHS Licensed Preschool, and serve as a polling location for our local and national elections.

We are endlessly excited about the possibilities for St. B and for our community as we continue to listen to the Holy Spirit and seek new ways to share Christ's radical hospitality and welcome.

We hope you will join us as we honor our past, embrace the present, and step boldly into the future, trusting in God's enduring grace and love.
